Celia is a survivor of the post-Change world and lives in the tunnels under The Magnus Institute. She follows Melanie King and Georgie Barker as a member of the post-Change cult, but respects their wishes to not be called saviours.

Prior to the Change, she was known as Lynne Hammond and would experience regular nightly visits by a flaming ghost woman before she moved to a different flat.

Personality

Before The Change, Lynne was relatively laissez-faire (relaxed) about situations that happened around her, opting to just go back to bed instead of hunt down the ghost haunting her. Even when she meets the ghost, she doesn't react in any meaningful way, just leaving it be .

After The Change, Celia becomes very curious, interested in connecting with other survivors, and yet quite nervous about her surroundings. She is friendly with Laverne, and respectful to Georgie and Melanie in the way of not assigning religious terms to them.

History

Prior to the Change, Celia was known as Lynne Hammond and lived in a flat in Clapton in 2016. While living there, she would be regularly woken up at night by the smell of smoke. This happened a number of times before she began to ignore it, at which point she started seeing the flaming ghost of a young woman. The ghost would only appear briefly, and Hammond would simply go back to sleep. As the visits continued the ghost woman would reach out to Hammond, and at one point was able to singe some hair off her arm. Hammond moved out of the flat shortly after and did not see the ghost woman again.

In 2017, Lynne Hammond contacted The Magnus Institute on the advice of a friend, assuming she would receive financial compensation for sharing her experience. She gave her statement to Martin Blackwood.

Sometime after the Change, Lynne Hammond fell victim to a Stranger Domain that took her name and memories from her. Upon being rescued by Melanie and Georgie, she gave herself the name 'Celia' and joined the cult that had formed around them. Celia seems to believe that Melanie and Georgie have the power to save the world, but does not have the same level of fanaticism toward them as some other members of the cult and is respectful of their aversion to religious terms. At some point, The Distortion attempted to consume her, but Melanie and Georgie were able to protect her.

When John and Martin arrive at the tunnels, Celia asks them what Domain they had been trapped in before being rescued. She does not recognize Martin given the loss of her name and memories, but nonetheless remains polite and sociable. She is the one who informs John that Martin went away with Annabelle Cane.

At some point after John and Martin leave, Celia is taken by the Servitors, where she somehow escaped and fell into another universe.

• Celia is voiced by Lowri Ann Davies, who also voices a character named Celia Ripley in The Magnus Protocol.
  • It is heavily implied / pseudo-confirmed that they are the same character, with Ripley confirming she isn't from the Protocol's universe in MAGP30 ('A tear between here and… where I came from.')
    • Her Statement principally mentions 'things that sliced my who from me with claws like scalpels / peeling away my layers first my name, then my memory...', which explains the Domain she fell into.
    • In this same Statement, she also mentions 'the fearless one', who is more than likely Georgie Barker.
  • Other actions that hinted to Celia Ripley being the same person as Lynne Hammond/'Celia' includes;
    • MAGP7: Recognizing the voice of Chester (who shares a voice actor with Jonathan Sims.)
    • MAGP23 / MAGP24: Actively seeking out TMP's Basira Hussain, and asking if she worked for the police.
      • Note: In TMP's Universe, Basira is a teacher with no background in the police force.
